The castle of the Dukes of Brittany
It was built at the end of the 15th century by François II and his daughter, Anne de Bretagne, twice Queen of France. This castle covers six centuries of History. It shelters a residential palace with beautiful Renaissance style front windows and loggias. It is situated right at the heart of the big city of Nantes and offers green spaces for relaxation to its inhabitants, just in between its walls !
Threre are interesting and comprehensive permanent displays on Slavery and on the two world wars to be seen in its rooms, while you can walk all along on the ramparts and have a stunning view on a busy and lively city.
